I’m not one to usually schedule ahead what I’m going to read over a period of time. I tried to do so before, and failed spectacularly at keeping to the plan. More often than not, I got distracted by new books that were being published, by recommendations from friends, odd books that caught my eye on shelves in my local bookstore. However, in the past few weeks I’ve decided on the goal of going through my TBR list.
My previous post is related to said endless TBR list, so if you’re interested what treasures I found buried there in the past half a decade, check it out.
For this fall, I chose 5 books that cover a few genres. Some of these books have been on my TBR for years. Out of the approx. 600 books on there, 100 represent my physical TBR - mostly literary fiction or epic fantasy, with a few historical fiction novels scattered around. In the hopes of narrowing it down, I will prioritize the hard copies.
In no particular order, my main autumn reading list:
Outlander: An Echo in the Bone - Diana Gabaldon
One for My Enemy - Olivie Blake
Gallant - V.E. Schwab
Kafka on the Shore - Haruki Murakami
The Little Friend - Donna Tartt
Knowing myself, 5 books may be too few for reading in 2 months and a half. As such, I’ve added 5 more just in case.
Pachinko - Min Jin Lee
Girl with the Pearl Earring - Tracy Chevalier
The Malevolent Seven - Sebastien de Castell
The Gambler - Fyodor Dostoevsky
Strangers on A Train - Patricia Highsmith
I’m excited to see if what my progress will be at the end of autumn!
